Let It Rain!

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”   (Matthew 5:43-48)

Father, You are the great I Am, the Creator of all things, to which You stated at the conclusion of that power-filled week of work, “It was very good!”   You are the sustainer of life, and You supply all the stuff of life to keep life going on.   We are so very grateful for all of Your blessings upon the earth; thank You for caring for the world that You so love.

Right now, dear God, there are several western states here in America which are suffering severe drought conditions, and one serious concern is the dryness and strong winds which increase fire conditions.   There are many states having multiple fires causing destruction of homes and lives; California, Texas, and New Mexico are leading the way with massive amounts of out of control, and costly fires.

Father, Your Word speaks of You preparing the rain in the heavens.   We are desperate for rain; much rain is needed and desired.   LORD, in Matthew 5 above, You are telling us to love our enemies, and You give us the high example of how You bless the good and the evil alike with the blessings of rain and all the natural things to promote good living.   And oh how I desire to be loving as You have shown.

I come to You seeking Your goodness and mercy for all who live in the Western United States; both the good and the evil ones; those who love You and those who do not.    We need rain; we must have rain to endure and survive.  We need You.  We need Your loving, compassionate help.   Father, I ask Your favor in sending Supernatural weather pattern changes across this dry and needy land.  LORD, let it rain!  Make it rain to end this widespread drought.  Glorify Yourself in the sparing of lives and possessions, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
