Today, let’s thank the Lord for His mercy and pray that we would be His merciful people.
I witnessed someone get spoken to in a manner that wasn’t quite necessary. It wasn’t abusive but sharp and the person saying the words didn’t use much tact. I thought how the person receiving it handled it very mercifully. I began to think about mercy scriptures.
Together, let’s pray His Word. He tells us in Lamentations 3:23-24 That his mercies are new every morning; great is his faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
Psalm 86:5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
Luke 6 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Father, thank you for your mercy. Help us to be merciful people. We don’t know what another person’s journey is like. We don’t fully understand why people act and react the way they do. Sometimes people respond out of fear, or maybe they are just having a difficult day. Help us Lord not to be offended but be a merciful people.
Father, you are good to all and full of compassion. May our hearts be more like yours we pray, merciful.
