Because You Can…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Words are so powerful, and we should choose them wisely. Words have the power to build up and they have the power to tear down. I was thinking about Isaiah 42:3 this morning. A bruised reed God will not break and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness, he will bring forth justice.
When someone has spoken words that are painful to us, we must forgive to set ourselves free. It doesn’t make what was said right, but it is for us to live free. Hurting people hurt people, it’s just the way it is.
Today, let’s ask God to give us power words to speak. Let’s build others up today, because we can. Let’s tell people how much they mean to us, because we can. Let’s help someone that may be struggling today, because we can. Our kind words, our gentle answers can change the day for someone else.
Today, if your day starts to be a hard day, do something kind for someone else and see if that changes your day around, because you can.
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you for filling our mouths with kind, gentle words. Thank you for the grace to forgive words that were spoken that brought pain. Thank you that today we can choose to forgive the people that brought the hurt. Ephesians 4:32 tells us to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave us.
Father, you hear every word spoken. Even every whisper is heard by you. Help our words to be kind and gentle as proverbs 15:1 tells us; A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Together, we will all make a difference today in our world, because we can. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Do what you can, because you can.
