From FAITHWIRE:
Apologist, author, and radio host Dr. Michael Brown is convinced some Christians today are improperly conflating politics and the Gospel.
“I agree that we’re dealing with existential issues,” Brown recently said during an appearance on CBN’s “Faith vs. Culture.” “I agree that [there’s a] battle for life … the battle for family, international issues, Israel — there are massive things.”
From Pastor Dewey:
So many Pastors in America have lost their love of all people, the consequences are horrific. Many so called Christians have put politics on top of God. Oh My! Very tragic. Many Christians have become very mean and chased so many away from the Church. How do I know this? Not only by research, but being out in the streets and traveling. Our Great Commission trip to Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota showed us the damage that has and is being down to the Church, it is self-inflicted. The Lord is showing us to make another Great Commission trip in 6 months. Sharon and I love spreading the love of JESUS as we go! We are a GREAT COMMISSION ministry! The Church is not just within walls, its everywhere. Friends back home in Minnesota have called me and Sharon missionaries, true! We love serving God. America needs missionaries as we are falling fast. My mentor, long time Pastor Don Kimbro says the Church in America is failing to baptize people and grow up mature Christians. How is your Church doing on that front? In June 240 South Korean Missionaries came to America and placed themselves around the country praying for another Great Awakening in America. From yesterdays Memorial service I was blessed to officiate a lovely lady came up to me afterwards and said “I’m Catholic, but your message was wonderful. I was so surprised by it.” I love to preach Jesus to all people. We are a non-denominational ministry.
Dr. Jim Denison:
The Holy Spirit cannot fully use a person who persists in unconfessed sin (cf. Romans 8:6–8), our spiritual activities have little effect on the larger culture. Our salt “has lost its taste” and our light is “under a basket” (Matthew 5:13, 15). Neither can then fulfill their transforming purpose in the world.
The lure and prevalence of “secret” sin help explain the truth of A. W. Tozer’s observation: “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.”
From Billy Hallowell from FAITHWIRE:
What does the future of Christianity look like in America? It will be quite different if any of the latest projections from the Pew Research Center come to fruition.
