PRAY OVER THIS

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”

PONDER THIS

In the end, Jesus Christ is your Judge—not your opinion of yourself, not some friend, not your mother or your father. Jesus is described in the Bible as a Lamb, but also as a Lion. Jesus is both Savior and Judge.

You’re going to meet Him as Lamb or Lion, Savior or Judge. Jesus Christ is the unavoidable, inescapable person in your life. You may have cursed Him, you may have mocked Him, you may have ignored Him, but one day I can promise you on the authority of the Word of God that you are going to meet Jesus Christ. He cannot be deceived. He cannot be discredited. He cannot be disputed. His voice is like the sound of many waters. When He speaks, it’s like a hundred cascading waterfalls. Can you imagine somebody standing and arguing with Niagara Falls?

This is the One who is sitting on the throne. When we stand before Him on our own power, everything stable is gone. Everything that men have depended upon and looked to is gone. Only in Him do we have a firm foundation.

  • How has knowing Jesus as Savior changed your perspective on life and death?
  • Who is someone close to you that needs to know Jesus as Savior?

PRACTICE THIS

Pray for the person you know who needs to know Jesus as Savior. Find a way to talk to or encourage that person today and ask God to give you more opportunities to be a witness for Christ in the future.
