Every day, the world of humanity proves itself to be more evil in actions, or more uncaring through lack of action, than ever before. In the beginning, Satan was handed dominion of the earth by Adam through the first sin. Adam chose to disobey God and follow Satan’s lead. Did you get that?! God gave Adam the responsibility to honor God, obey God in the managing of His Creation, and Adam quickly surrendered his dominion over the earth (our home) to his new master by choice, the evil one, Satan Himself.
Many consequences were inherent from the fall; however, one thing of significance was God’s judgment and cursing of Satan:
“So the Lord God said to the serpent:
“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.” (Genesis 3:14-15)
Would you notice with me one thing God did not do as a way of cursing the disobedience of man? God did not take the dominion over the earth back which His man, Adam, surrendered to the evil one. (Understand, dominion is not Sovereignty; God is eternally Sovereign. God’s Sovereignty is a topic I cover broadly in my Spiritual Warfare Conferences; my point of writing here is to highlight what Satan is doing today).
Satan has a two-edged hatred. First of all, he hates God with a vengeance. Secondly and powerfully fueled by his hate for God, he hates man. Beloved, he hates you! This evil slice of scum targets man, his God ordained wife, and their God-given children. He attacks the man. He attacks the wife of the man. He attacks the very foundation of the marriage, the union of love. He attacks the children, the fruit of their love. Satan does all that he can in the hearts and minds of the family to make it vile and dirty before God. Be aware of this fact, he strongly needs man’s cooperation to accomplish this destruction. He is powerless without the surrendering of man’s free will to his tempting influences. History is teeming with his destructive influence followed by the cooperating deeds of man, but I will not attempt to elaborate on history in this brief writing.
And so, we jump from Eden to America of the recent years.
America has many problems. She is divided on beliefs and opinions on just about everything, it seems. The number one subject of heated discussion is probably about politics or government. Oh, what fools we are. We in America have been deceived by the one who subtly influences our thinking and believing. He has deceived our politicians into believing that they know what is best for God’s creations.
You say, “how is that possible; show me the proof.”
How about the indisputable fact known for over six thousand years that when God created mankind, He made them male and female only; a man and a woman, Adam and Eve. In His design and purpose for mankind to reproduce through all time, He created a male and a female, and reproduction only happens in His design. In addition, He created them in such a way that they cannot interchange their roles.
Enter the serpent. Satan brings gender identity confusion so convincingly that many people, mostly young, and it is getting younger through influence and suggestion every day, believe there are or can be what they are not. Add homosexuality into the plot against family and same sex marriages arise. Same sex marriages lower the birth rate. Listen, the evil one is causing our government leaders to open a permissive, and even paid for, altar to sacrifice our children to him while still in the womb. If our children escape being a pre-birth sacrifice, Satan has other means for our children to be sacrificed to him; sexual perversions of everything imaginable, human trafficking, and addictive behaviors that aim toward the destruction of the life of the child.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)
The LORD has chosen believers, the Church, to be His access to a troubled world. Too many Christians are distracted from God’s work by lesser, though good, activities of the church.
My heart’s desire is to encourage you to be a part of God’s activity in the world, and in the lives of people around you. You need to be a person of prayer; the world needs you to be a person of prayer! Pray On!
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
In 1992, the LORD gave me a limited understanding of the direction our nation was heading, and at the same time He presented this Scripture from II Chronicles 7:14 and burned it into my heart and soul as being the only recourse for America. I then began to teach, preach and beg the church of the LORD Jesus Christ to turn from worldliness and back to the LORD.
America is in a desperate situation. God is our only hope! Genuine spiritual awakening is vital and necessary to the healing and hope for this generation. We will not experience genuine revival within the church without first reviving prayer within that church. You can have a revival of the church without a great orator. You can have a revival of the church without gifted musicians (even without music at all). However, you will not experience a revival of the church without first the church returning to the private and corporate prayer experience, thus the need for a revival of prayer. Our world needs committed intercessors, and I work diligently toward that end.
Since 1993, I have been involved in multiple prayer ministries, and traveled in many nations, in an attempt to awaken the church to the responsibility and the joy of prayer.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:10-12)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (II Corinthians 10:3-6)
Church, the time is right now! There is a war going on in the heavenlies that is controlling the affairs of men on the earth. Church, the true Church of the LORD Jesus Christ, get into your best spiritual shape, and then pray with all your praying strength and skill . . . pray! Praying is fighting . . . spirit fighting!
Christian, do you have a battle plan? It is time that you did! Prayer works! I have seen the power of God manifest in people’s lives through prayer alone. I have experienced the wondrous working of prayer in my life.
Too many in our generation have lost the effectual fervency of a powerful prayer life. We do not pray. Prayer is hard work, yes, but it is a necessary and expected work of the church. “Watch and pray!” The definitive and absolute purpose to the believer’s prayer is to rout Satan’s strategy and facilitate God’s will upon the earth. In the believer’s submission to the Spirit, (“walking in the Spirit”), he may accomplish this in his character and presence often without full knowledge of this occurrence.
Many, many years ago while in seminary, three fellow students attended a convention of Satan worshipers in a convention center in Dallas, Texas strictly out of curiosity. They sat way in the back, at a great elevation from the platform. Apparently, the satanic activity on the stage was being hindered, and the leaders of the event soon pointed these young men out from afar and demanded they leave, as their presence was obstructing their program.
Real, fervent, prayer becomes a presence which overtakes the person. You are prayer. The Believer who “walks in the Spirit”, himself, becomes a powerful prayer hindering evil influences, changing men and events, and helping God in His plans, “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” This
is the only rational way one might “pray without ceasing.” The weight of this Spirit of Prayer, the Holy Spirit, is constantly going out, though we are not always aware of it. It is a great encouragement to know that this Spirit prayer-power is emanating from us constantly, as we “walk in the Spirit” (being a submissive, usable, and available vessel for God’s will and purpose).
This Spirit influence does not recognize the limitations of time or distance. All of this upright praying makes a difference at the other end, in the place, circumstance, or person(s) to which it is intended.
Your prayer is a Spirit-intensity arriving immediately wherever in the world you may be praying. Things happen that otherwise would not have happened. Opposition weakens or difficulties give way. Directions are made clear; truth becomes obvious. Health is restored; strength renewed; justice prevails. Men and women are set free. The Kingdom of God is enlarged.
All of this seems to fall into what Paul was referring to when he said, “Pray without ceasing.” Pray, yes, of course. But also, be the prayer. “Walk in the Spirit.” America, the world, the Kingdom of God, needs this kind of believer! Pray On!
