But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
A few weeks ago, I was talking with my oldest grandson, Benny, about how the Spirit of the Lord came on certain people in the Old Testament. Once they had done what the Lord wanted them to do, the Spirit would lift.
We talked about how the Father loves us so very much that He wants to be with us always and forever and no matter what. For the children of Israel, He was in the cloud by day to lead them. He was in the fire by night. He is so loving that He wanted them to see with their physical eyes that He was there. You can read about it in Exodus 13.
Then we talked about how precious Mary, the mother of our darling Champion, was the first to carry Christ in her. Then Jesus was born, He became Immanuel, God with us!
In John 15 and 16, Jesus told the disciples, “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said, that He takes of Mine, and will disclose it to you.”
The Holy Spirit is the one who tells who Jesus is and reveals Christ in you. He teaches us about all things and helps us to see as He does! He helps us to overcome because greater is He who is in us than anything that can come against us.
When the Spirit revealed that Christ is my Life, living in me and through me, I thought, ‘How can that be?!! It’s too simple and too wonderful to comprehend!’ The still, small voice said, “Yes!!! Yes!!!” And I said, “Yes!!” He will teach you if you let Him.
The fact is, you are complete in Him, filled with Him, one with Him, the Lord fights for you and Jesus prays for you. He doesn’t come and go. He is here to stay and doesn’t leave you if you mess up, nor is He mad at you.
Look around you. People are hurting, lonely, and scared. Be the answer. Show them Jesus. Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. It’s Jesus living through us that people need. Show the Father’s love. Who is He? He is Peace, Hope, Love, Kindness and so much more. Let Him live through you.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”
Just as Benny’s precious heart received, my prayer is that you also will receive all the Father has for you. He is so worth surrendering to, and the Helper is ready to show you all things! Be blessed and be your perfect expression of Christ in you, the hope of glory. Amen and so be it.
