Seeking the face of God

Written by Connie Keyohara

Seek the Lord and his strength;

seek his presence continually.

Psalm 105:4

Seeking God and his presence is something that should excite us.

If there is something in your life causing you to avoid his presence,  it’s imperative that you confess that to him.

Oh, how he loves you.

Seeking God’s face means desiring to know His character and wanting Him and wanting His presence, more than any other thing He can give us.

When we want to spend the rest of our lives with someone, for all eternity as well, doesn’t it make sense that we’d want to know them personally and intimately now?

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul

Deuteronomy 4:29

“I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me”

Proverbs 8:17

This is what the LORD says to the house of Israel:

“Seek me and live;

Amos 5:4

 I have a very close relationship with my two children, we speak almost on a daily basis with some sort of communication. I know by the tone of their voice, a facial expression and even a text, if something is wrong.

I know them personally and I know almost every detail and aspect of their life…almost.

If they only contacted me when they were in need and not before or after that, it would break my heart. You see, the love I have for them is so grand, I long to hear from them daily.

When you think of the love Father God has for us, its much grander and unmeasurable. So, imagine how he feels when his children only call on him in an emergency?

Recently, I had an issue that I felt was urgent and somewhat disheartening. I didn’t have near the fear that I would have had years ago. The reason for that was because I was already seeking his face.

My goal has been, for some time now, to seek his face and stay at the throne of grace, camp out there and to …

Pitch my tent in the land of hope!

Acts 2:26

Therefore, when I had that disheartening issue arise, I was already in his presence. I can’t imagine if I had been seeking other things, other than Christ when this problem arose.

I would’ve had to come back, feeling terrible and then ask for a favor.

Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

Isaiah 55:6

A personal relationship with God is not as hard to get to as we might think. Once we’re saved, we receive the Holy Spirit, who begins a work on our hearts.

We should pray without ceasing, read the Bible daily, and join a Bible-believing church; all these things will help us to grow spiritually.

Trusting God to get us through each day and believing that He is our Provider is one way to have a personal relationship with Him.

My prayer for you is that you’d seek his face and seek to know Him better.

Many blessings,

Connie
