Founded in 2008, Big Dog Ranch Rescue (“BDRR”) is a not-for-profit business based in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida.
BDRR’s mission is to save thousands of dogs each year, place them with loving families, and to educate about the proper care and the importance of spaying and neutering. BDRR’s website may be viewed HERE.
Stressed migrants along the US/Mexico border often have pet dogs which have to be abandoned during the process of entering the US and US Border Patrol facilities. Sadly, God’s animals have often had to suffer as a result.
The BDRR has stepped up in a big way to help, especially along the Texas/Mexico border. The rescue operation has received national attention, including televised segments on the Fox News Channel and Newsmax.
Tucker Carlson of Fox News Channel recently interviewed BDRR’s President and Founder, Lauree Simmons, on two separate occasions:
Ms. Simmons was also recently interviewed by Newsmax:
My brothers and sisters, our hearts should naturally have compassion for all of God’s creation, including (and especially) the animals we take as our pets.
Our pets may not carry the presence of the Holy Spirit, but they absolutely have a soul (i.e., a mind, will and emotions) and they love us unconditionally and sometimes very deeply.
The old adage that “we have pets as a part of our lives, but to the pets, we are their entire lives” rings true. I thank the Lord for businesses like the BDRR, which daily reach out to save dogs that are sometimes tossed aside or ripped away from their owners!
Proverbs 12:10 (NKJV)
“A righteous man regards the life of his animal…”.
Praise Jesus forevermore!
