UPDATED! KOB TV Weatherman Steve Stucker ‘Leaps’ Into Full-Time Ministry!

If Steve is not in the New Mexico Broadcasters Hall-of Fame, he certainly should be voted in! I have lived here since 1995, he certainly is one of the most popular broadcasters ever in New Mexico, if not number one! If Steve ran for Mayor here in Albuquerque, he would win hands down! In 2019, Steve Stucker and I met for coffee. He wanted me to share what it is like to be in full-time ministry. I am very thankful for Brother Steve for answering the call of God on his life. Steve has made an impact on thousands, perhaps millions with the reach of KOB TV. I am excited for Steve and America! We need more men like Steve Stucker that can build bridges of love and trust. I also love that we both love our pups!

From Steve:

After spending literally half my life in one job at KOB 4, God has made it clear it’s time for me to dedicate the rest of my active years to the ministry. I hope to continue with my Beds4kidz ministry and to be able to be a guest teacher/speaker at churches around New Mexico, preaching & sharing my testimony. I’ve enjoyed a beautiful love affair with the people of the state and look forward to sharing my heart for Jesus with as many as possible. God Bless you all, Steve

Thank you Sir!

KOB TV: A look at Steve Stucker’s legacy and what’s next

If Steve is not in the New Mexico Broadcasters Hall-of Fame, he certainly should be voted in! I have lived here since 1995, he certainly is one of the most popular broadcasters ever in New Mexico, if not number one! UPDATE: There is a movement to get Steve in the Hall-of Fame.

This comes from another man who belongs in the New Mexico Broadcasters Hall-of-Fame,  former KOB Radio morning man Larry Ahrens: Steve Stucker from KOB TV 4 has just announced his retirement from television. According to Steve he will be easing out of his morning weather duties over the next 30 days. I want to congratulate Steve on a most stellar career. He has set the standard for doing local TV – not only on the air but in his deep personal commitment to making Albuquerque a better community. I’ve known Steve as a colleague and a friend for over 30 years. He is the kindest and most generous human being you would ever meet. Steve says that he will continue his faith ministry and charity work. I’m so happy for this wonderful man. He gives heart and soul every day. God bless you Steve!

From Steve:

Morning Inspiration!
They flourish in the courts of our God.
Even in old age they will still produce fruit;
they will remain vital and green. They will declare, “The Lord is just!
He is my rock! There is no evil in him!”
Psalm 92:13–15
In announcing my retirement from a 48 year Radio & TV career, this scripture holds special meaning for me today. The word retirement is not mentioned in the Bible. The great heroes of our faith never stopped doing the Lord’s work, & there is no indication we should either. I prefer to look at this new phase of my life as Retooling instead of Retiring. While I’m closing one career, I’m eagerly stepping into another. My deepest desire is to spend the rest of my productive life in full time ministry. I’m trusting in Jesus that I will be granted vitality & freshness…even new spiritual growth. No matter our age, we who follow Jesus should always stay active in His Kingdom. There is such a great harvest to bring in…yet so few willing to do the work it requires. May we each dedicate our lives to doing all that God desires. I pray we always produce sweet fruit in serving others, through our love for Jesus, our rock, our foundation, our future.

  1. The pastor at the church where I was led to Salvation in Christ back in 1981 said his dad, who was also a pastor used to tell folks when asked when he was going to retire “I’m not gonna retire – I’m gonna refire!!!”
