Morning Inspiration!
Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!
Tell all the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
Let the sea and everything in it shout His praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord,
for He is coming to judge the earth.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:31–34This passage tickles me, for the way the writer gives human behaviors to what we consider inanimate objects like fields, crops & trees. Every part of creation mentioned here, is described as being in the act of praising God in joyous celebration. This covers the earth & the sea…and should always include you & me! We so easily fall into despair because life is less than perfect. We have endless blessings we so often overlook or forget. Failure to praise Jesus is something we will someday regret! I realize it’s not always easy to ‘find the joy’, yet with practice we come to realize it is always there. It’s just not always immediately evident. I’ve learned to ‘mine for the joy’. Sometimes its hidden just below the dust & dirt on the surface of our life. In other cases, we need to ‘dig down deeper’ to find the true treasures that are ALWAYS within reach. The promise of forgiveness, & eternity in paradise with the One Who created everything in the universe…is a wonderful reason to constantly rejoice. We just need to remind ourselves of this more often; especially when times are tough. Amazingly, God designed our brains, so that even when we face the depths of despair, praise to Him, lifts us up. He then fills our hearts with joy that overtakes our sorrows. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His faithful love endures forever. |
