A Spoonful Of Hope…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. This morning I was thinking about my brother Eldon. He was the nicest man that I knew. He helped everybody that he could, and I always looked up to him. I know he wasn’t perfect, but in my eyes, he was. He was twenty-two years older than I. It’s been a year now since he went to heaven. I miss our many talks, prayers and laughs.

I was telling a friend recently about a time we were visiting some of his friends in North Carolina. I was just a young girl, and he took his little sister along on some of his travels to join his wife and children. They were all so good to me. On this trip, he served me some cereal one morning, the kind that I didn’t like. He told me I had to eat it as we don’t waste. We were guests in someone else’s home, and we had to eat what they had. I just couldn’t, not even one spoonful. I wanted to with all my heart, but I just couldn’t do it. After about a half an hour, he ate the cereal for me. I still chuckle at that memory all these years later. He was always helping me out.

Today, be the kind of person that doesn’t judge, the kind that lends a helping hand. A simple act of opening a door or a smile to the lonely soul. Spread some love and kindness everywhere you go. It’s in the giving of yourself to others that brings joy in yours.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for the people that you put in our lives. You always have someone to make life a little easier, a little better here on earth, for each of us.

Father, today may we all show some kindness to others. It doesn’t matter who we are, we can make a difference. Father, take us beyond ourselves today and give us opportunities to show some love, some kindness and give a spoonful of hope to someone in need. Father, may our face carry the warm smile, our lips a word gently spoken and our eyes the light of Christ to someone in need. Amen.

Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Be amazing today, because you are and because you can be.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
