NBC News is reporting that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s ongoing three-day trip to Russia offers a symbolic shot in the arm to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The two met informally yesterday, according to Russia’s state news agency TASS, with talks between the leaders’ full delegations slated for today.
The three-day visit underscores how President Jinping desires to position himself as a world-shaping leader and for China to act as a counterweight to US dominance.
