My brothers and sisters, here’s a little background on the Republic of Equador:
It’s situated along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, just south of Columbia, and includes the Galápagos Islands. It adopted the US dollar as its national currency in 2000 and has a population of about 18 million.
The history of this South American country reveals centuries of cultural change and domination from native (Inca) control, Spanish colonization, and various territorial claims and battles leading up to its current form of government – a representative democratic republic.
As of 2020, Statista (a German-based, international provider of market and consumer data) reports that Ecuador is, overwhelmingly, a Christian nation (86.7%), with 68.8% of Christians identifying as Roman Catholic. Statista breaks this down further HERE.
One thing is for sure, the people of Ecuador need our prayers right now! Let’s pray. Father God, the people of Ecuador have suffered so much recently. We ask, in the name of Jesus, that You would supernaturally provide for this nation and send those who are called to help. We ask You to heal the wounds, be they physical, emotional or spiritual, and may You be glorified in it all! Amen.
Psalm 147:3 (NKJV)
“He heals the brokenhearted [a]nd binds up their wounds.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
