As far as the East is from the West.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Have you ever felt like God could never forgive you for something you’ve done?

Maybe you wonder why you can’t stop sinning. You try and try and keep failing.

The Apostle paul, put it like this:

“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate, that is the very thing I do.”

Romans 7:15

First of all, we want to remember that God‘s grace and mercy are never a license to sin.

We must ask God to forgive us and try to start fresh. And to be sincere about it.

Jesus Christ brought God’s plan for forgiveness to completion at Calvary. God didn’t have to forgive us, he wanted to because of his love for us.

Once we really grasp the goodness of God and really begin to see ourselves in comparison to Him, we are well on our way to a genuine repentance.

God has provided a way out of sin for us and at great cost to Himself.

For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 1:9

Once you are forgiven by God for your sin, you must turn away from that sin. Make a conscious decision that you will not purposefully commit the same sin again after being forgiven. And by following Christ and seeking him through scripture and prayer, we will move further away from sin.

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

Psalm 103:12

I read this one time and I felt like it explained it perfectly;

-The phrase as far as the east is from the west is meant to communicate in infinite space. East and west never meet; no matter how far you travel east, you will never reach a point at which your next step must be westward. Therefore, God in His wisdom did not say, “As far as north from south”; rather, He said, “As far as east from west.”-

You have to be humble, admit your weakness and be willing to ask for help before you fall again. You’ll have to be willing to put to death your own will, your own lusts and desires and to be willing to conform to God’s perfect, pleasing will.

Whatever makes you fall and causes you to sin, you have to be willing to go straight to God for help.

So, don’t beat yourself up and don’t give up! Seek God. He will meet you where you’re at!

He’ll never let you down.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

Many blessings,

Connie
