The Journey to Glory!

Let us come together and start a week long journey!

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and leads us to Resurrection Sunday!

And it all starts with Jesus entering into the great city of Jerusalem!

Jesus could have used any means to enter Jerusalem. He could have rode in on the finest stead, a war-horse.Those battle horses are beautiful and elegant. Showing power and strength. But they represent one thing, war! He could have shouted, ” Your King is here!”. Surely the Savior of Israel would enter into the city in this way! That’s what they expected.

What the world expects our Lord to do, He will always show us something different, the right and Holy thing to do!

He entered on a donkey, a symbol of humility. They represent peace!

They were also a beast of burden. Donkeys have the ability to carry heavy loads for long periods of time.

This is how Jesus chose to enter into His final week of life on this earth. He rode Into Jerusalem on a donkey to carry their burden of sin,to bring them peace and show His humility while doing it all!

As He entered Jerusalem, the people would gather and line up. Hoping to see this Marvelous King that was about to save them.

The people cried and shouted  out hosanna meaning save ,rescue , or Savior.

Finally the prophecies about the Messiah were coming true! They came together to see and greet the Savior.

And as Jesus entered, humbly on the back of a donkey, they threw down Palm branches at His feet. A symbol of victory!

But the victory that they wanted was over the evil, surpressing rulers. But God had a greater victory in mind!

As they laid these branches at His feet they didn’t understand that this man known as Jesus of Nazareth was about to lay down His perfect unblemished life for the sins of all humanity. Through His Sacrifice all would be able to come to the Throne of Glory by the Blood He would shed in a few short days! God always has something greater than we can imagine!

Jesus was about to rescue all of humanity and give all those that trust and follow Him the ultimate victory!

The Work of Salvation was about to be accomplished, finished by One Man,Jesus Christ of Nazareth the Messiah!

The door to Salvation only needed to be opened once. And all we have to do is walk through the threshold and accept what has already been done.

But it was a long 7 days to get there!

I encourage you starting today to walk with Jesus this Holy Week.

Throw your palm branches down at His feet. Recognize that He is the Savior that had been promised. That He is Victory over sin and death.

Remember that Jesus came to bring peace to our hearts. Peace to our minds. And peace to our souls. Realize that He will carry your burden of sin that’s weighing you down, if you are willing to give it to Him in humility.

This week follow Him to understand the love that He has for you and what He endured to ensure that you may have Eternal life!  Then we can shout from the rooftops

Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”  (Matthew 21:9)

Walk with your King and see what God can do in just 7 days!
