Brie Stimson with Fox News reports that police arrested at least six people Friday at the Nebraska state capitol building during protests following the passage of a bill banning abortion after 12 weeks and restricting gender transition procedures for persons under the age of 19.
The legislature briefly ceased debate while arrests took place in the chamber balcony. Those opposing the bill reportedly yelled and threw what appeared to be bloody tampons onto the legislative floor – leading to the balconies being closed. About an hour later, a woman was arrested after allegedly punching a police officer in the chest.

My brothers and sisters, this situation is simply hard to believe, yet no longer uncommon. We live in a time where persons sometimes refer to abortion as a “human right” and consider any restrictions to be an infringement upon a woman’s rights and even her body. The body that is actually infringed upon (mortally) is that of the unborn baby. Gross displays and actual physical fighting in support of abortion “rights” and gender assignments to young children without parental involvement are flourishing – despite the evil inherent in such things.
Scripture is coming true before our eyes, in that things understood to be moral and true for virtually forever are now questioned or denied, such as there being two sexes (male and female), that we were made in the image and likeness of God, that we were known by God before we were formed in our mother’s womb, and that killing (murder) is unacceptable. The wisdom of man often considers these things to now be problematic, relative, inconsequential, outdated or simply wrong.
As a nation and as individuals, I pray we would repent for leaning on our own wisdom and for embracing a culture of death (e.g., abortion, assisted suicide) in our governmental agencies and even in many of our own souls. Father, I ask that You would open the eyes of our understanding, and help us to seek and embrace Your wisdom in all things, in Jesus’ name!
