Build the Walls
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
I Corinthians 6:19 NKJV
How amazing is that! The Spirit of the Living God lives in each and every person that professes His Mighty Son Jesus as Lord and Savior!
A Gift from the Master! The Gift of comfort and peace. The Gift of wisdom and discernment. The Gift of having His presence with us always.
There’s something that we forget. We have our part to do also. If the Lord Jesus was so gracious to give us the last gift to strengthen us,to comfort us until His return, shouldn’t we be protecting it at all costs?
We must be protectors of the Spirit of God that lives and is alive and well in each that has opened the heart gate to allow Him to reside!
Walls are built for one thing, to keep out what you don’t want in.To protect,to shield, to bring comfort, and safety.
So if we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, let me ask you; just how strong are the walls of your Temple?
Are they standing strong and firm, unshakably planted and rooted on the firm foundation of Jesus!
Are they starting to show some wear and are becoming weak and unstable?
Or have your walls collapsed and are completely open for the enemy to come in.
One thing that we have to keep in mind is this is not our home.
This life is hard.We are tired. We are weary. We go into battle every single day. we try to protect what the Lord has allowed us to have. To protect the precious Words of Hope,Faith, Love,Mercy and Salvation.
We battle to keep the walls of our hearts intact.
Just when we win one battle then the next one is just waiting for us.
We start to get fatigued. Then we let our guard down.
The height of our protective walls start to get lower and lower. When we are physically tired we can make some bad decisions.
But if we continue to fortify our Spiritual walls, Satan himself won’t be able to penetrate and claim victory over us!
When I say this, it reminds me of Jesus in The desert. He was physically weak. He was hungry. He was thirsty. He was alone. Satan saw Him and thought he had an opportunity to take Jesus out.
Jesus’ spiritual walls were so strong and fortified that the sharpest spears and the greatest temptations of the devil couldn’t penetrate through the walls.
Those spears were crushed as soon as they came into contact with those walls! Defeated!
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Matthew 4:4 NKJV
What did Jesus do during that time of temptation? He fasted. He depended on the Holy Words of the Father to indwell so deeply that He knew what was the Truth and what was Temptation!
And every Word He spoke was Truth!
The Lord has done His part and kept the promise of the Helper!
We too must be good stewards and do our part.
We all have five major walls that defend our Temples.
Our minds, how we think.
Our eyes, what we see and watch.
Our mouths, what are you speaking
Our ears, what we hear and listen to.
And our hearts, what and how we feel.
Even if you say that your walls are good and strong doesn’t mean that there aren’t any areas that need to be patched up a little bit. We always hear people say ” No, I’m good”. These are the very ones that are in the most danger of having their walls completely crushed. They never check for any breach, any cracks. This gives free entry for every evil imagined.
These five walls all have to work together. Like any other wall, all the corners have to meet in order for them to be effective. If there’s just one small gap, then the whole thing can come crashing down.
Pray to the Lord, trust His instructions and build everything on His Word which should be the foundation of everything we do.
Nehemiah says in 2:17
Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.” And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.
Nehemiah 2:17-18 NKJV
The gates of Jerusalem had been breached, burned down. No longer safe or in peace. The enemies had full access to whatever they wanted. All of Jerusalem laid waste.
Nehemiah saw what the enemy could do without the protection of gates and walls.
He decided,
“Let us rise up and build.”
Let us Rise!
Are you ready to build, are you ready to strengthen?
Are you willing to protect the Temple of the Holy Spirit that lives inside you?
So what are your walls of defense?
What is protecting this Sacred Holy Temple that dwells in you? What is keeping it safe and protected from any and all enemies?
Stand on the Firm Foundation of Jesus Christ. See His Resurrection as the Hope that we too will be Resurrected. Take His Word to build the Wall that Protects His Spirit within you. Use it to patch up and strengthen the weak spots!
Rise today, look for those gaps. Check for those cracks. If your walls are barely holding on, rise and build on the strength of Christ!
Fortify,rebuild and strengthen today!
