The Associated Press (“AP News“) is reporting that Congressman George Santos (R-NY), who faced outrage and mockery over a litany of fabrications about his heritage, education and professional pedigree, has been charged with federal criminal offenses according to sources for the Associated Press.
The charges against Santos, filed in the Eastern District of New York, remain under seal, and would not likely be unsealed until at least Wednesday.

My brothers and sisters, veracity is critically important in our personal and professional relationships. It reveals, in part, our integrity and trustworthiness. Regardless of political party affiliation, when one represents thousands of United States’ citizens in the United States (“US”) Congress, truthfulness should be a given, not something that is continually suspect.
God requires us to be truthful, as scripture makes it clear that He despises a lying tongue (Ref. Proverbs 6:16-19 and Proverbs 12:22). Let’s pray that this distraction to the desperately-needed work of the US Congress be justly addressed and put behind us.
Proverbs 6:16-19 (ESV)
“There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to [H]im: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”
Proverbs 12:22 (NKJV)
“Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, [b]ut those who deal truthfully are His delight.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
