I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
How many times have you asked yourself,
What is my purpose?
What is it that the Lord had called me to do? We over think this. So much sometimes especially to the point where we just give up searching for the answer.
We doubt,we fear. We can start to think that maybe we have no purpose.
We do all the right things.
We have confessed our sins to the Lord and repent of them.
We accept His gift of Salvation.
We allow the power of the Holy Spirit to regenerate our hearts, minds and souls.
All this by the mercy of God!
We become the living Sacrifice, this is our reasonable service.
We are called to do something.
But what is that something?
It’s to go out and spread the Gospel. It’s to love your neighbors above yourself. It’s to be the hands, feet and mouthpiece of Christ!
Yes, this is all true. Sometimes we do these things and still miss the mark.
How?
We do it all for the wrong reason.
Our service has to be nothing else but to bring Glory to God!
To Honor His Holy name!
To set His Throne above every throne. So that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
We are to stop seeking the approval of corrupt men, and seek the approval of the Master! If we are seeking approval of men then we are forcing God to the undeserved second seat, and removing Him from His Holy Throne!
Jesus gave us two commandments,
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ‘ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. ‘
These things are not natural for us to do. It is only by the Grace of God,the Blood of Jesus and the Power of the Holy Spirit can we even start to Love our God with all that we have.
If you are loving the Lord God with all of your heart it will have no choice but to Glorify His Holy Name! The praise and worship to a deserving God will then be natural, honoring and glorifying!
I do not believe that anyone has ever gone to their grave saying they brought too much honor and Glory to the Feet of the Lord of Heaven!
I’m very sure that many saints have said the exact opposite with their last breath.
” Why didn’t I bring more honor and glory?”
Isn’t He worth it?
Which do you seek to say at the end?
We have all been called to different gifts and talents. The unfortunate part is that many people will be at the end of their lives and believe they never accomplished anything good for the Kingdom of Heaven.
We start to play this Spiritual tug of war.
Who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath,
Romans 2:6-8 NKJV
It’s through patient continuance! The reward, eternal life! Seeking to do good,to glory and to honor.
Not man but God!
It’s holding the rope in prayer for our brother and sister in the Mission Fields.
It’s holding the rope for the Pastors. It’s holding the rope for the evangelist.
It’s the covering of prayer for the ones that are in prison and being persecuted for the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
This is seeking to do good.
We are called the Body of Christ for a reason. When one part is weak the other picks up the slack.
When the Lord looks at our hands,I hope that He sees the scars on your Palms. The scars of holding the rope to anchor all those from falling . Covering one in prayer is just as important.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Ephesians 6:18-19 NKJV
So don’t ever think that you are no good to the Kingdom of Heaven!
Know that when you hold the rope we are partakers in bringing Glory to the King of Glory!
Hold the Rope!
