As Dietrich Bond Hoffer said, “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act as to act.”
“It is poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.” Mother Teresa
More Churches, more Christian books, more Church programs, music, websites, etc…but we are failing God. From Got Questions: The judgment seat of Christ involves a time in the future when believers will give an account of themselves to Christ. This is the plain teaching of Scripture: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10). The warning is to Christians, not unbelievers.
The greatest failure of the Church in my lifetime is the failure to carry out The Great Commission. My Daddy, a World War II U.S. Marine SGT, taught me to accept responsibility for the world I live in! I take it to heart. I will take it to my grave!
What are you doing to build bridges of love and trust with the lost?
Excellent message here by Brandon S. Harvath from The Christian Post:
“Pandemic” was a word I rarely considered until three years ago when Covid swept across our planet and struck fear in human hearts from coast to coast. Many of us have similar stories. Travel stopped, businesses closed, lives were lost, and others completely turned upside down.
When I think of the word “pandemic,” I can’t help but be reminded of Romans 8:18-23, where Paul tells us that all of creation was subjected to futility in hope by God and that it groans in eager expectation to be set free and to obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
The Great Commission is the antidote to the pandemic of sin
So many Americans are mixed up about God. This message in CHURCHLEADERS gave me a headache! Too many Pastors have fallen in love with bad politicians. What Is Christian Nationalism, Anyway?
People of all ages want to belong to something, even if just belonging to their own way. This is why so many seek to join the clubs, gangs, or even churches. Yet society reflects the craving for a designer world, one that suits every whim. We want things to go our way, according to our own timeline, and at the pace of our own choosing. We want designer clothes, designer technology, designer homes and cars, even designer religion.
King Solomon wrote about his search for personal satisfaction saying, “I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure.… Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless” (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11, NIV).
The human race has always been on a quest for acceptance, yet it is unwilling to accept the One who is truth — but the world doesn’t want to belong to Him. Don’t be satisfied with anything less than God’s forgiveness and acceptance.
