This Wednesday, June 14, is flag day. It was on this day in 1777 when the 2nd continental congress adopted the stars and stripes as the American flag.

There is meaning given to every aspect of our flag, a flag that patriots have given their lives for the nation it represents. The 13 stripes remind us of the colonies that were willing to give their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish this nation.

Seven red stripes signify hardiness and valor. Six white symbolize purity and innocence. The blue behind the stars represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice. While the stars point to 50 states united in the belief that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should be afforded to all.

These values and beliefs have been supplanted even as, on Sunday, the American flag was removed from the central position at the White House by order of the President of the United States in violation of tradition, code, and law.

The seven deadly sins are ugly, but only pride has its own flag. Many American citizens are embracing the new secular religion brought about, in part, by the sexual revolution predicted in Romans chapter 1 as we deny God in our thinking.

President Joe Biden continued his crusade to proclaim good to be evil and evil to be good by holding a massive celebration of LGBTQ+ lifestyles, putting the garish pride flag at the center of two American flags hanging from the white house over the presidential seal.

Biden praised the pride community as “the bravest and most inspiring people” he has ever known.

The United States was founded on the lofty goal of liberty and freedom for all. As I have often pointed out, as we turn from God, we will lose our liberty, freedom, and justice for all.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” -2 Corinthians 3:17
