The Christian Broadcasting Network (“CBN”) is reporting about the California Senate’s hearing this afternoon regarding a proposed amendment to AB-957. The current version of the bill [HERE] would classify parents who do not endorse their child’s gender confusion or sexual transition as abusive – potentially leading to a child’s removal from the family’s home.
The proposed amendment to AB-957 includes language revising Section 3011 of the California Family Code such that in making a determination of the best interests of the child, the court shall consider 1) the health, safety and welfare of the child; and 2) that the health, safety and welfare of the child includes a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity.

The Daily Signal reported a few days ago about AB-957. Originally, the bill required California courts to consider whether a child’s parents were “gender-affirming” in custody cases, but the amendment completely rewrites California’s standard of child care.
The proposed amendment to AB-957 includes a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child, giving California’s courts complete authority under Section 3011 of the California Family Code to remove a child from his or her parents’ home if the parents disapprove of LGBTQ+ ideology.

My brothers and sisters, I realize this matter is pending in California, but so much of what happens in the world of politics and ideology spreads to other states, especially in states like New Mexico with our current governor and a majority of liberal-minded politicians.
If AB-957 becomes law in California, parents will be placed in an untenable position, given the power of the courts and civil child protection agencies. The California Senate is taking away parental rights in the raising of their children and legislating what is not really morality, but what Christians would generally consider immorality! Lord have mercy!
