American Family News reports that many have expressed their outrage at Fatima Mousa Mohammed’s scathing rebuke of Jews, the New York City Police Department, and the United States (“US”) in general during her recent commencement speech at the City University of New York (“CUNY”) School of Law.
During the school’s previously-approved commencement speech, Ms. Mohammed said “I want to celebrate CUNY Law as one of the few, if not the only law school, to make a public statement defending the rights of its students to organize and speak out against Israeli settler colonialism.”

Fox News reports that CUNY has now condemned Ms. Mohammed’s commencement speech as “hate speech,” following intense backlash.
A statement released from CUNY’s Board of Trustees and its chancellor addressed Ms. Mohammed’s divisive comments after she attacked “oppressive” institutions of law and order such as the military, the police, Immigration & Customs Enforcement and the US prison system, declaring that law is a “manifestation of white supremacy” and called the New York Police Department “fascist.”

My brothers and sisters, it’s not surprising that certain persons hold such views, but for a publicly-funded and operated law school to initially approve this speech, with the reported support of fellow graduates, is disturbing at the minimum. It shows the danger facing our society when a public institution would knowingly and willfully graduate a law school student who publicly denigrated the entire judicial system she was just trained to uphold – not to even mention the rest of her hateful comments.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV)
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
1 Corinthians 3:18-20 (NKJV)
“Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, ‘He catches the wise in their own craftiness’; and again, [t]he Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
