But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

Isaiah 59:2

Our sin separates us from God and actively living in sin will affect our relationship with God. Jesus expects us to repent and to turn away from your sin and choose not to participate in the sin anymore.

As Believers in Christ, we cannot condone sin or celebrate sin. We’re also aware that “we are not perfect” by any means. I say this because that’s the go-to phrase haters love to shout at you when you mention the topics they want to argue about, but can’t back up with scripture.

Anyone can say they are a Christian. Many believe because they were born into a Christian family or that they attend church or just because they’re decent people, that automatically makes them a Christian. Not true at all.

Being born again isn’t a title, it’s a journey, it’s also a lifestyle. One that we’re working on constantly through faith in Christ. As Christian’s, true Believers, we should constantly strive to do better and to change. We also known that only God knows the heart and intentions of it.

Recently, I’ve read about and even had conversations about how Christians should act towards certain topics. Most people are quick to say Christians are judgmental if we disagree with certain behaviors, when in fact, that makes the people spewing these comments, judgmental as well.

I’ve heard WWJD (what would Jesus do?) a lot lately. The only true way to know what “Jesus would do, what he’d say or what he did” is to dive into scripture, the word of God. Of course you’re not going to know exactly what he said, or wants or expects of you if you’re not reading your Bible consistently.

Many churches or denominations have started preaching other ways than Christ and he alone crucified. This is so that they can twist scripture and or veer away from the Bible, to pacify their sin.

Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.

Proverbs 30:6

As christians, since we’re called to preach the Good News (the gospel) we’re sometimes torn to shreds due to the attackers lack of knowledge when we do call sin what it is… sin.

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

John 15:18-19

Jesus is basically saying to the disciples, don’t be surprised when they hate you.

Why do they hate him? It’s simple… because they don’t want to give up their sin. They love the things of the dark. The things done in secret.

For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light.

Mark 4:22

If you think about it, they’ve been trying to kill Christ since he was born. King Herod tried to eliminate him. He wasn’t the last to try to destroy Christ and His followers ; even in our own day evil men and women rise up against God’s work.

God said this though:

“I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”

Matthew 16:18

We are the church!

And some day Christ will come again to judge all evil, and Satan and his minions will be defeated. But until then, as firm believers, we proclaim that God’s Word is true from the beginning and we uphold the authority and foundation of his Word.

The very essence of your words is truth;all your just regulations will stand forever.

Psalm 119:160

Christians get a bad rap and I believe that in part, it’s because some Christians have used the word of God to beat people down. And I’m sorry for that, but not every Christian, ever, throughout all of eternity has been that way.

There are some of us that want to talk about God and share the good news because we know eternity is at stake. Our time is short the end is near. Is our message always excepted or believed? No, it’s not. We are to continue to fulfill the great commission of Christ though.

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

Mark 16:15

Bringing the good news means we don’t leave anything out in order to appease someone, we’re accountable for what we say.

If it’s offensive, you’ll have to take that up with our Creator. If there’s someone claiming to be a Christian and they’re hating while trying to minister to you, chances are they’re not saved, they think because they speak Christian-ese, they’re safe. So never judge all of us by some of the foolish behavior of others.

In the meantime, be patient and remember, Gods got people planted everywhere, proclaiming the good news and preaching the truth. That’s our job and we’re not ashamed about it.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes.

Romans 1:16

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Matthew 24:14

We will preach until the whole world hears!

Many Blessings,

Connie
