According to REUTERS, the high stakes game of “chicken” and military posturing continue between Taiwan and China as Taiwan’s Air Force scrambled into action today, following the spotting of 10 Chinese warplanes crossing the sensitive median line of the Taiwan Strait.
This is the second time in less than a week that Taiwan has reported renewed Chinese military activity, after 37 Chinese military aircraft on Thursday flew into the island’s air defense zone.

My brothers and sisters, we may hear about this situation frequently, but that’s because of its importance to the geopolitical stability of Asia. This situation represents the ever-present battle of democratically-governed nations versus communist nations, with communism’s inherent suppression of its people, as is the case in Xi Jinping’s China.
Let’s pray for peace and freedom between China and Taiwan, as the situation could spiral out of control quickly considering the level of military tension between the two nations. There is also the potential for military involvement by supporting countries, such as the United States.
The Chinese government claims to allow Christianity, but in practice it does not. According to The Heritage Foundation, imprisoning Christians in brainwashing camps is another step in the Chinese Communist Party’s (“CCP”) crackdown on religion. The CCP believes independent religious practice threatens its power.
Under President Xi Jinping’s policy of “Sinicization” the CCP seeks to conform religion to its political goals, with religious groups deemed to “disrupt public order” facing severe monitoring and persecution.
