The Barrier against Evil
but you have done more evil than all who were before you, for you have gone and made for yourself other gods and molded images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back—
I Kings 14:9 NKJV
What is evil?
We can come up with so many ideas, thoughts and practices. We can make up our own thoughts of what evil is.
Evil is defined as anything that can cause harm to another. It is a contradiction of God’s Holy Word and His nature.
Here is the King Jeroboam.
Not only was he an evil person but he was an evil king.
Jeroboam was the first king of a divided nation. He was king over all of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
The enemy of our souls does amazing things when we are divided!
The Church is in such a state that evil gains more traction and more ground every single day. It has penetrated deep in and has wounded her badly.
What was King Jeroboam’s sin against God?
It’s simple! His greatest sin was rebellion.
Rebellion against The Lord God almighty will always result in idolatry.
But not just idolatry but justifying the idolatry as righteous, leading all of the people under his rule to the same practice as himself. And out of ignorance and convenience they followed like sheep to the slaughter.
The practice of idolatry worship had started to pick up in the land. But It was still a requirement from the Lord to go to Jerusalem to worship. Some of this idolatry worship had already slipped in.
Instead of using his authority to bring people to the Lord he turned them away.
Instead of fighting for what was righteous, he allowed the unrighteousness to reign.
I Kings 12:28-31
Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!” And he set up one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. Now this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one as far as Dan. He made shrines on the high places, and made priests from every class of people, who were not of the sons of Levi.
I Kings 12:28-31 NKJV
This is exactly what is happening in our country, states, cities and communities!
There is nothing new under the sun.
There are many “Kings” and officials that sit on the thrones of government that make decisions for a whole people, leading them astray from how the Lord has intended us live.
These decisions are not based on the Truth of the Word of God.
When the truth of God is compromised and not used to govern then all are led astray.
“Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!”
Oh how God’s people perish for the lack of knowledge!
There was an article posted on FGGAM by Pastor Dewey Moede.
It made the depths of my heart sorrow and the pit of my stomach sick.
The title was
NMAFL INVESTIGATIVE REPORT: New Mexico Abortion Hotline Promotes Satanic Temple.
This is more than disturbing, it is evil to be made good, in our own cities.
A portion from this article says;
“BREAKING NEWS: Today, New Mexico Alliance for Life released its findings from our investigative report through public records reveal New Mexico’s pro-abortion Governor Lujan-Grisham’s taxpayer funded abortion hotline is referring women to The Satanic Temple Health (TST Health) abortion clinic – advertised as, “the world’s first religious abortion clinic.”
Just as King Jeroboam twisted the Word of God, built altars of worship.
Now it has gone from the sacrificing of calves to the sacrificing of human life.
Not just human life, but that which is still in the womb.
Religious abortion.
The legalization of human sacrifice in the name of religious freedom.
Lord have mercy on us.
“The problem in New Mexico is that sinning is generational. No repentance, no change in behavior! The Church here has lost its influence. ”
Pastor Dewey Moede
People of God don’t realize something.
I’m talking to the real people of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those that have repented, believe and actually follow.
Those that have sorrow in their hearts because of wickedness. Those that hate what the Lord hates.
We have let the Holy Spirit dwell in our hearts but have denied Him access to control and guide it. We have quenched the fire that He gives.
And we have the audacity to complain about our evil “kings” and the death they bring! We put them there.
We are not even able to count all the warnings God gave to His people.
Repent, and turn from you evil ways.
But it’s more convenient for us to continue as we are and not disturb what is happening around us. The Church has always been the influence until the last 100 years.
Now the world laughs and mocks not just us but our God!
I don’t believe this is what Jesus meant when He said to turn the other cheek!
Israel still refused to hear the Word of God.
They failed to obey the Word of God.
Their failure resulted in captivity of the whole nation. They came under the rule of the same evil they allowed to prevail.
Think about this. The Nation of Israel is still in captivity, spiritual captivity.
They still have not repented of their sins. And still reject Jesus as their Messiah.
Now look at us. This country was founded on Christian principles.
We had accepted and we prospered. Now we can see it all slipping away.
We complain about captivity because it is not knocking, it’s thumping on the door!
Maybe just maybe this is a form of God’s judgment on us for not being good stewards with what He left us to protect, His Word!
How dare us! We are the ones that marched right along with this evil.
I too am guilty.
Even as the Father sent His Son to redeem the most crooked heart. I read this and lament over what we have done.
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
Matthew 23:37-39 NKJV
There are many that will call themselves Christians, but there are few Followers of Christ!
But that number grows less than that for those who allow the Power of the Holy Spirit to reign and rule.
If you are one of those very few, think about this.
You are the only thing that is keeping evil from totally taking over. You are the barrier, the wall because of the Holy Spirit that lives inside. Continue to rely on His strength and not your own. Ask for wisdom and discernment. Live in this world to hold back the dark while bringing the light of Christ, but never live a day of it! The Holy Spirit has sealed you for such a time as this!
Fight the Good fight of Faith! Be like Paul the Apostle and pour yourselves out ,completely, for the Glory of the Kingdom of God!
Your reward is waiting!
The rest of you.
Forget about revival. Forget about what it may cost to truly commit and follow Christ. Never mind that the world will stand against you.
Forget about the feel good passages of Scripture and a man centered Gospel.
Repent and lament over what you have done and allowed. Cry out to the Lord for His mercy!
Accept His grace!
Then get up and get in the battle. Because your brothers and sisters in Christ are getting weary of fighting alone!
We can talk about the wickedness of this world all day long. But if you want change. You want to see the evil of this world stop.
Then repent, lament and be filled with His love and mercy.
The Lord gave you the breath of life today.
The very same breath that gave life to Adam!
Use that breath to proclaim the Glory of God!
Use it to profess Jesus is Lord and Savior!
Use His breath to call on the Helper, His Spirit to guide and protect you today. To give you the courage you lack.
The only way to fight every evil of this world is to fight it with Good!
Today be the barrier that holds back the evil and darkness of this world through the Light that shines through you!
