The Golden Coin…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. A friend recently gave me a chocolate gold coin. It had In God We Trust, United States Of America, an eagle, a President and a date. I chuckled as I have a few coin stories.
I have a heart for hurting people and people that are in need. I always wanted God to be able to trust me with a lot. I am sure it is because I have been there myself. People invest in a lot of things, but today ask God what he would have you invest in. Some invest in stocks, some in bonds, some in real estate and the list seems endless. God’s Word tells us where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21) He tells us to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal. (Matthew 6:20)
I remember a church service I was in years ago now and all I had to put in the offering was nine pennies. My nine pennies are what I had during that very difficult time and God wanted them. I felt impressed to go up front and put it in the offering plate. I argued with God that morning. Because of the pride of life, I thought the pennies would make a noise on the side of the offering container and people would hear. I thought I would be embarrassed as my first mentor Julie, and I sat in that Sunday morning service. God was just asking for my whole heart. Those nine pennies, the creator of the universe didn’t need, but he wanted to see if I would be faithful to give it to him.
On the way back to my seat, a woman gave me a hug and she began to cry from deep within. Somehow, I know she was feeling the pain I was carrying. Since then, he has multiplied those nine pennies many times over. I pray he finds me and you trustworthy to be givers. Maybe your neighbor is in need today and you are being entrusted with what they need. Maybe it’s the lady behind the counter that needs a gold coin. Are you the woman that has it? Ask God to use you today to bless someone. It may be a hug, a smile, a coin, a car, a house, a meal, a tire, a dress, and the list really is endless. Give as he directs. He tells us to give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:38) Most of all let’s give him our whole heart.
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you for your love and your tender care of your beautiful people. Thank you for shaping our lives. Father, may we surrender everything, every part of our lives and everything we have to you. May we lay it all on the altar for the purpose of investing in the kingdom, the Kingdom of God.
Father, thank you for rebuilding the ancient ruins in people’s lives, communities and our nation to the nations, according to your Word. (Isaiah 61)
Father, trust us with much, we pray. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. Help someone today. Ask God to direct you and you will be blessed by his results.
