Lack Of Moral Guidance and SupervisionNurturing takes place at home, where the child is taught the difference between right and wrong. If the role model is not in the picture, the child will most likely turn to wrong decisions. We used to say in back in the day, it all starts at home, nowadays, many children do not have a good home. There are missing parts, like a mom or dad. Drugs, booze and criminal activity may be in the home.
So many children, yes children here in Albuquerque have guns! How did this happen? It is such a tragedy, these are just babies! The family unit for many has been torn apart. We are in a crisis. Many families are split up, New Mexico is last in education, New Mexico 51st in Education, drugs are a huge factor, Oh! we now have legalized pot! That should really help the state! WRONG! Sadly, I have been writing stories like this for almost 20 years now here in Albuquerque. It is a spiritual problem. One of the greatest failures of the Church in New Mexico and all over America is not carrying out The Great Commission, it is just that simple. The Church is not baptizing enough people and helping them grow up to be mature Christians. Pastor Don Kimbro pointed this out to me about 6 years ago. Do you have children in your Church? Do you have a strong Children’s Sunday school? Are you seeing weekly baptisms in your Church? Does your Church evangelize in the streets of your community? The Great Commission is a command from Jesus. Most of the time all I hear is crickets when I bring this up. Many are all tied up in knots about politics! That is a shame. Jesus made it simple for us, it is all in the Bible as to what we are to do.
Look into the mirror. Seek Jesus.
I get asked from time to time by folks back home in Windom, Minnesota, “When are you moving back here?” I have told my friends for years, the Lord has us here, He always tells us what to do and where to go. We are here to share Jesus with all. We are a Great Commission ministry. Some of my friends refer to me and Sharon as missionaries in this land of New Mexico. We sure do need missionaries here. New Mexico is spiritually dry, as is all of America.
