Newly-named Tropical Storm Idalia poses a significant threat to Florida this week, as AccuWeather Hurricane Experts say the storm could rapidly strengthen into a powerful hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico before making landfall in the state.
A ‘high’ risk for impacts is now in place for a portion of the Sunshine State, centered around the Big Bend region bridging the Gulf coasts of the panhandle and peninsula. This area will be most at risk for life-threatening damaging winds, torrential rain and storm surge flooding as Idalia approaches as a hurricane around midweek. More Here
