Waiting on an answer to prayer.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

Are you currently waiting on God’s answer to a prayer you have?

I’m currently waiting on something very important in my life to change, it’s a prayer request I’ve been seeking God on, fiercely!

Although He has been faithful to answer many of my prayers, it’s not always been in a time or a way that I might have expected.

It’s also, at times, been a varying degree of discomfort in my life and that’s the hard part. Fear crept in…

I’ve often failed at waiting on the Lord. Although I made it through each wait in tact, I wasn’t sure how to wait and not be angry or fearful.

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

We should be trusting that His plan for us is far better than anything we could have ever imagined. When we do this, God provides all that we need, exactly when we need it and we can find our strength in him alone.

We wait. We trust. And even in the waiting, we have all that we need when we are following Jesus. His grace is sufficient.

Waiting on the Lord means to depend upon Him, to trust Him, to look to Him for help.

As you wait on God, your hope needs to be in God’s promises to you and not on your current circumstances.

The reality is, God is working on our hearts. And we know that God’s people have always been a waiting people.

In the midst of waiting on God’s answer, we can also experience the rest and peace that comes from being in God’s presence. Because as we seek an answer from him, we’re actually in communication with him. Which is a plus.

We are never alone in our waiting, no matter how afraid or alone we may feel. The fear of the unknown can be a bit hard, but in scripture we’re told that “God is always with us; he promises to never leave us, nor turn his back on us”

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”

Psalm 20:7

“He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.”

Psalm 112:7

No matter what lies ahead, it’s imperative we turn to God and not away from him while we wait.

The answers will come in God’s time, not ours.

“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

God has promised us a hopeful future. Rest in Him while you wait. He will answer you.

God has reserved mercy for those who trust in Him. The Lord will surround you with mercy if you wait for Him.

“Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him”

Psalm 32:10

Many Blessings,
