The Associated Press (“AP News”) reports that the Biden administration cleared the way for the release of five, unnamed American citizens being detained in Iran. The deal involves a blanket waiver allowing international banks to transfer $6 billion in “frozen” Iranian money from South Korea to Qatar – without running afoul of existing US sanctions. As part of the deal, the Biden administration will release five Iranian citizens held in the US.
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken signed off on the sanctions waivers last week, a month after it was announced that US and Iranian officials had reached an agreement in principle; however, the US Congress was not informed of the final terms of the agreement until yesterday.

My brothers and sisters, apparently the secretive, unmarked plane sent to Iran with $400 million in 2016 by former President Barack Obama wasn’t sufficient, so President Joe Biden needed to find a way to give them $6 billion more!
Iran is a regime that has been at the top of the list of state-supported terrorism for decades and has demonstrated over and over again that it cannot be trusted. It has not negotiated in good faith regarding the on-again/off-again nuclear fuel enrichment negotiations, and everyone knows that Iran’s real plan is to develop nuclear weapons. What makes this so critical (beyond the obvious) is that Iran has openly and specifically threatened to use such weaponry against Israel and the west for decades.
Why does the US always seem to take the subservient position now? If Iran wants a handful of detained persons returned to Iran from the US, then let Iran swap for a handful of persons it has currently imprisoned in Iran. Why do we accept a weakened position that results in ruffled feathers with our allies who are being held to a commitment that frozen Iranian assets are not to be released to Iran, when the US is doing it unilaterally?
This writer believes we are WAY past time to refine and correct our foreign policy and military blunders worldwide. We desperately need a wise and sharp-minded POTUS, who has a strong understanding of the current geopolitical roadmap and is surrounded by advisors who see the critical importance of Amercian leadership in the world. We do not need political subservience and equity for the sake of subservience and equity. The “lowest common denominator” is not a proper goal for individuals nor countries (despite that being the usual outcome of socialism and communism).
Lord, have mercy! Bring us wisdom and strong, godly leadership!
Proverbs 10:20-21 (Amplified Bible)
“The tongue of the righteous is like precious silver (greatly valued); [t]he heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed and guide many, [b]ut fools [who reject God and His wisdom] die for lack of understanding.”
Proverbs 3:13-15 (NLT)
“Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
