“ I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
God wants our hearts focused away from the love of the world and the love of money. Pride, with all its attached sin. All of this leads to brokenness, heavy burdens, sorrow and eventually death.
He desires for us to fix our eyes on the eternal, on His soon coming kingdom. On what is unseen.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18
We must not be conformed to this world. We can certainly love and pray for others without being hateful. As followers of Christ, we are to set good examples, neither condoning nor condemning them but allow God to be the judge and we must stand our ground firmly.
We must also remember, this is not our home. We’re only passerby’s.
