CNN reports that according to the Richardson Center for Global Engagement, former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (75) died in his sleep on Friday, September 1, 2023, at his summer home in Chatham, Massachusetts. He reportedly died peacefully with his wife at his side.
Richardson was a longtime fixture of Democratic politics, with a long history of helping to free persons held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad.
