He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children,
So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
They would not be like their ancestors— a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.
Psalm 78:5-8
We should be faithful in handing down the truths of God to our children and grandchildren.
This is our duty as parents and grandparents.
When we have children, we’re entrusted with a great responsibility. Not only to teach them and nurture and love them, but to tell and teach them of Gods laws and His undying love.
To tell them of the Gospel (the good news).
To teach that there is forgiveness for all our sins.
This Gospel news is the greatest treasure we can give our children. It is the greatest gift.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. –
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
