After losing teaching positions at New York’s Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts following the May 12, 2023 machete-wielding incident, Rodriguez is currently listed as an adjunct instructor within The Cooper Union’s School of Art.

The Fox News report may be read HERE.

FGGAM first reported about (then) Professor Rodriguez’ behavior on May 24, 2023.

The Cooper Union’s School of Art webpage may be viewed HERE.  Rodriguez is listed as an adjunct instructor with The Cooper Union HERE.  The school’s website includes Rodriguez’ biography, which, in part, states the following:

Shellyne Rodriguez (b. 1977) is a Bronx-based artist, educator, writer, community organizer and public intellectual who works in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture.  Rodriguez stewards the histories and stories of people that have shaped her lived experience, describing her practice as “the depiction and archiving of spaces and subjects engaged in strategies of survival against erasure and subjugation.”

My brothers and sisters, it’s unclear if Rodriguez has repented of her actions from earlier this year, so I ask the Father to touch her soul and lead her to the cross – if this is not already the case, in Jesus’ name.

Students’ concerns about Rodriguez’ hiring at The Cooper Union are well founded and it amazes this writer how teachers can have huge moral failings and then be hired right back into a position involving students.  Where is the wisdom?

Proverbs 1:7 (ESV)
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Proverbs 28:26 (ESV)
“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
