The Lord blesses his people with peace

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

John 14:27

The very first thing we learn from this scripture is that God’s peace is our inheritance!

There can be no true peace without Jesus. Temporary peace is only available through deception, addiction or distraction.

When you’re at your lowest of lows, the world will offer you temporary peace. Usually in the form of something God would deem sinful. These things lead only to eternal regret.

But Isaiah 9:6 says “God shall be called the Prince of Peace.”

“The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.”

Psalm 29:11

The peace Jesus gives us is different from the peace the world offers us. Many times we search for peace elsewhere, but we’ll never find it there, unless it’s empty and temporary. Sometimes we look for it in a bar, a club or in  the arms of a person we should not be with.

You see, Jesus left his peace with us. His peace is the peace that allows us to stand still in the hardest of times.

A Christian’s life should come under the Bible teaching of peaceful living. People who live this way will avoid constant, difficult conflicts and unnecessary hardships.

When we minister to others, we should be doing so in a peaceful, pleasant way and not a quarrelsome, hateful manner.

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

Hebrews 12:14

The times we are living in are very difficult, but God offers us hope and peace.

The peace and joy we have as Believers, comes from knowing that Christ has already won the victory, and nothing in this world can undo that!

“Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”

Psalm 34:14

A time is coming or has already come to our lives where we will have troubles of various kinds. But Jesus said;

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

“A born-again person ought to possess unspeakable peace in the spirit.”

– Watchman Nee

Although this is a hard thing to acquire, we should continue striving towards peaceful living.

May God‘s peace surround you today and always.

Many Blessings,

Connie
