While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Those trying to attain world peace are delusional. They have attempted to disarm the world. Disarm them of Biblical truths, laws and of God himself.
World peace cannot happen, aside from God, period!
They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. “Peace, peace,” they say, when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:11
I read this analogy;
The prophet Jeremiah was like a doctor delivering bad news to his patient. His diagnosis was that, unless drastic measures were taken, the patient would die. However, the false prophets gave a “second opinion.”
“Don’t listen to Jeremiah,” they said; “you are going to be just fine.” Instead of radical surgery and a drastic change of lifestyle, the priests and false prophets said a light bandage was all that was needed.

You see, the Prophet was trying to warn, as prophets do, and the false prophets (the demonic spirits) were trying to deceive the people. Some things never change, Satan has no new tricks.
And, God has always sent Watchmen on the walls!
Jonah obeyed the Lord and went to Nineveh. Jonah warned the people, ‘Forty days from now, Nineveh will be destroyed!’”
Jonah 3:3-4
When God sent Jonah to Nineveh, his mission was to warn the people about the severe consequences for their disobedience.
God wanted them to know that his judgment was near, but that they still had a chance to repent and obey him.
He is the God of second chances.
God sometimes brings people into our lives or sends us to someone to warn, simply because we may not be listening to His warning.
“For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
Amos 3:7
