5 Reasons I’m Starting To Read a Paper Bible Again

I am not a geek! I am an old man. LOL! Truth! I refuse to use a tablet computer when I preach the Word of God. It seems so impersonal to me, I have to have my hands of God’s book! I have many Bibles, many books, nothing on a computer. I love this message by Charles Stone. The awesome thing is that all this is by personal preference. I am an old preacher who loves having the good book with me in my hands, that’s just me! LOL! PS: I never know when someone is looking down at their phone or if they are reading God’s Word in Church, or they are texting! HA! I LOVE EYE CONTACT! By looking at peoples faces during the sermon you can tell if they are receiving the message or not. I do not see a better Church with all the computers, lights and Hollywood performances! I told you I was old fashion! I will never get Kindle brain! Ha! Many Churches spend too much money on THINGS!

As a pastor for over 43 years, Charles Stone served as a lead pastor, associate pastor, and church planter in churches from 50 to over 1,000. He now coaches and equips pastors and teams to effectively navigate the unique challenges ministry brings. Below is his message for us today:

I’m a self admitted geek. I love tech stuff. My dad was an electrical engineer and our basement was filled with all kinds of gadgets. When I was a kid, I spent hours playing with his tools and gadgets. And as we entered the computer age, I became one of the first among my friends to embrace that technology. I was an early smart phone adopter, and I now use a tablet computer when I preach, do my devotions and read God’s Word. Recently, however, I dusted off my old NIV and began to read it in my devotions instead of relying solely on an electronic version of the Bible. Here are five reasons I’m going to begin reading more from my paper Bible. More Here
