Former Minnesota professional Snocross racer on road to recovery after farm accident, gives thanks to God

Travis Muller pictured here with his precious daughter

This story made my cry. I grew up with Travis Muller’s uncle Wayne. We both graduated from Windom, Minnesota High School in 1974. I remember the Muller family being such good stewards of the land God gave them to farm and that they are a godly, hard working family. When I heard this news, it just broke my heart so much. I am so very, very grateful for all the first responders who all worked to save Travis’s life. I am proud of my hometown. I have to say that I have watched with great appreciation how my hometown has been served by such heroes over the years! I carry Windom in my heart and soul. It is where my Christian foundation was built. The words of Travis, make me cry. The excellent reporting of JOHN LAURITSEN makes me cry tears of thankfulness.

Thank you to my dear friend Dan Dobson, former manager of KDOM radio for sending me this report from WCCO TV. John Lauritsen is an Emmy award-winning reporter from Montevideo, Minn. He joined WCCO-TV in late-July of 2007. Two days after he started, the Interstate 35W bridge collapsed. Thank you John for your precious reporting.

WINDOM, Minn. — After losing his legs in a farm accident in September, a former professional Snocross racer is on the road to recovery.

“If I were to live anywhere, I’d probably still pick this spot,” Travis Muller said.

Growing up near the town of Windom, Muller always knew the life he wanted was in his own backyard. The countryside gave him the space to become a professional Snocross racer. And when he retired from that, he focused on farming.

But on Sept. 24, life as Muller knew it, changed in an instant. More Here

Like many of you I have been surrounded by sadness of folks who have loved ones who are very ill and folks that have had loved ones pass away. It is a very sad Christmas for many. This song that was posted by Angel Murchison here at FGGAM this morning, preached to me, I pray it does the same to you! Angel’s Prayer of the Day

Living in New Mexico means that I get my Citizen at least a week or more after it has been published. We still have the pony express out here! Ha! I just got my Nov. 22nd edition! My dear friend Mike Fisher of Windom had told me that Mike Lohre had written and excellent article on Travis! YES! Mike sure has been a blessing to the Windom area! What an awesome reporter he is!

I just read the article that Mike wrote on the Deflt house fire. I had read about it on Facebook. Our prayers are with the family that has been displaced from their home and lost about everything. I know my hometown area will help this family!

The building that burned was once the Carson Mennonite Brethren Church.

In the article that Mike wrote about the tragic fire, he quotes Elaine Kroeker who was a member of the Church “As they stood in shock about losing everything, I was drawn to the call I was raised with.  A call to serve and to give. A call to offer the love and hope of Christ, and to do what we’ve been taught to do.”

THAT PREACHES TO US ALL! GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST!
