Parrish Alford, writing for American Family News, discusses how former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has railed against newly-elected House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), calling him “basically a Christian fundamentalist” with “political ideology that should scare us” on her MSNBC program recently.
Similarly, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor Jen Rubin called Speaker Johnson “a religious nut – and by that I mean he subscribes to all of the extreme Christian nationalist views.”
Psaki was further quoted saying that “[t]he bible doesn’t just inform [Speaker Johnson’s] worldview. It is his worldview.”

Fox News published an article covering Kayleigh McEnany’s recent interview of Speaker Mike Johnson.
During the interview, Speaker Johnson said that there were entire industries built to take down public leaders and that he wished others would get to know him. He said that he’s not trying to “establish Christianity as the national religion or something” and that “[i]f you truly believe in the bible’s commands, and you seek to follow those, it’s impossible to be a hateful person because the greatest command in the bible is that you love God with everything you had, and you love your neighbor as yourself.”

My brothers and sisters, regarding Psaki’s comment acknowledging that the bible is Speaker Johnson’s worldview (see Psalm 119:160), this writer shouts “Bravo and Amen!”
Psalm 119:160 (NKJV)
“The entirety of Your word is truth, [a]nd every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”
FGGAM’s very mission is to operate, minister, report and comment from the perspective of a biblical worldview. The truth is what God’s word says it is! And, as I’ve said many times, the Truth is a Person, and His name is Jesus (see John 14:6)!
John 14:6 (NKJV)
“Jesus said to [Thomas], ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
How many competing or contradicting political and spiritual beliefs do we face every day, whether from our elected or unelected government officials, school administrators, the press, social media, our own well-meaning family members, and perhaps even from some pulpits? How much of what we hear, see or read every day is based in biblical truth and worthy of our acceptance and emulation?
In our lives, do we really hold and live out a BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW? In other words, do we “walk the talk we talk on Sunday?” How often do we avoid bringing the Lord and His direction for our lives into daily decisions and discussions? Who do we fear more, man or God?
I’m reminded that the bible says that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (see 1 Corinthians 1:18).
1 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV)
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
By way of example, how often have we heard a person nominated for a judgeship testify during a confirmation hearing there is no need to be concerned because the judge’s religious beliefs would not be considered when deciding matters before the court? EXCUSE ME! Shouldn’t one’s faith be a CRITICAL COMPONENT of a judge’s perspective and decision-making when the good of society is being deliberated?
Godly men and women should be leaders in civil government BECAUSE of the wisdom, virtue and love found in Christ Jesus! We should seek and embrace God’s will in ALL we do, and never should we put some imaginary firewall into place so the WORLD will find us acceptable!
We should do all things with excellence (as best we can), as unto the LORD (see Colossians 3:23).
Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men…”.
If you are willing, let’s pray. Father, we lift up all those who serve in the US Congress, asking that Your protection and wisdom would rest upon them as they make decisions affecting each and every American. Tenderize the hearts of those who have not yet accepted Jesus as Lord so that unity would prevail in our civil government – and not just unity for unity’s sake, but that You would be acknowledged and glorified in the work of this organization. Thank You, Father, for the leadership of Speaker Mike Johnson, who was raised up for a time such as this. We ask You to guard his heart and to bring him great wisdom as he leads the US House of Representatives, that he would always and unashamedly give You all the praise, glory and honor. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Praise Jesus forevermore!
