This does not surprise me at all! Church attendance is dropping in America and many folks stay at home and watch a Church service on TV or YouTube. Gallup: In May 2023, 31% of U.S. adults said they attended church in the past seven days, remaining below the 34% measured before the pandemic and the 40% measured in most years before 2013. This is the world we live in! For years I have been asked if FGGAM is going to build a Church. God said NO! God established FGGAM as a multi-faceted ministry. We reach thousands every month here on our website, we travel many states in the JESUS car, that God provided to carry out The Great Commission! The Church God has given us has NO WALLS! We also use radio in my hometown of Windom, Minnesota, that is all directed by God. Social media is such a huge part of FGGAM, heart to heart ministry is what we do for God! I have called for years for Churches to tear down their walls! WALK LIKE JESUS!
When Sharon and I were coming back from the doctor yesterday, (She fractured her foot) we lost count of all the Churches in Albuquerque! Churches on every street corner! But the city is still going to hell! Tear down the walls, walk the streets for JESUS! Have Church outside! Reach the lost! It is like pulling teeth to get some Pastors to think out of the box! When God was moving me out of radio and into FGGAM, the late Pastor Ray Franks, who was a mentor of mine, told me, “Dewey, do not start a Church, so many are struggling to keep 25 people in their Church.” When a man of God like Pastor Ray speaks, I LISTEN! AMEN!
What would happen if the top three attended Churches in Albuquerque would hit the streets one Sunday and share the love of JESUS to many on the streets????? The top three Churches in Albuquerque reach around 30,000 folks! LEAVE YOUR WALLS! It is called The Great Commission It is a command from JESUS! Not a suggestion!
If God gave out report cards, what grade would your Church get in carrying out The Great Commission? How many baptisims has your Church had over the last year?
What will it take to wake up the American Church? Just 4% of Americans have a Biblical Worldview! Just 37% of Pastors have a Biblcial Worldview! Those figures are from George Barna research! HORRIBLE! I will go to my grave saying that the politics of many Pastors fueled the downward trend of Church attendance! Sexual abuse scandals in many denominations also has stained the American Church forever. To Church: Protect your abuse victims—don’t abuse them a second time. Sharon and I are witnesses to what people say about the Church when we are carrying out The Great Commission!
I know of a couple that are starting a Church in Albuquerque, ‘ReAwaken City Church.’ They are doing it the GOD way. They listened to GOD! I beleive with all my heart their Church will be a BOOM for JESUS! They are walking out their calling! I know the heart and souls of Pastor Ed Solis and his lovely wife Darlene. In everything we do, it must be of GOD and not ourselves. As we said back in the day, leave your ego at the door! EGO stand for edging out God. Pastor Ed and Darlene are MISSION MINDED! What is going to happen to the one on one contact with people, the Church family? Is this a continued trend of isolation?
God has shown me for years now to go where people are at. Do not wait for them to come to you. When is the last time you picked someone up at their house and took them to Church? Just do not invite the, TAKE THEM TO CHURCH!
