The Thanksgiving Envelope…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Happy Monday! I don’t know why I have been going down memory lane, but I have. I was thinking about my sisters that have gone on to be with the Lord this morning. Oh, the joy of sisters.
Jen, one of my sisters was born with a rare bone disease. Life was tough for her. She walked with crutches, but she never let them stop her. Her legs were less than perfect, but Jen could sing up a storm. I can sell just about anything she would brag, as she worked at Sears Catalog.
When we were down to nothing, Jen would always have a little stash. Angel, look behind the stereo, there will be an envelope. Sure enough, the envelope would contain a five-dollar bill and sometimes a ten. We would be set for dinner. Other times there was no envelope, and she would send me to the store to charge until she got paid. She worked hard with what she had.
I know this week is Thanksgiving. We all have a lot to be thankful for, in a world that is less than perfect. Let’s be a thankful people and pass out some envelopes. We can make the world a better place and put joy in the heart of God’s beautiful people. Your envelope may be God’s answer to a prayer. Let him use you this week to make another life thankful.
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you that there is joy in giving. Your word tells us to give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Father, may hearts be filled with joy as they receive this week. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself. John 12:32.
Father, draw many this week, we pray. May the spirit of thankfulness be present in the heart of people, we pray. Amen.
