American Family News is reporting that the United Nations’ World Health Organization (“WHO”) is seeking to improve worldwide preparedness for future pandemics, which could give it immeasurable authority across the globe.
The WHO is actively working to add amendments to its International Health Regulations (“IHR”) that would empower the organization to declare global health emergencies, vaccine and mask mandates, lockdowns, travel restrictions, and to control the “vaccine passport” of every citizen within the 196 member countries – which includes the United States (“US”).
The Biden administration voted in September to support the WHO’s “statement of unity” in this matter. The administration is reportedly avoiding the use of the word “treaty” so that the constitutionally-required approval of all treaties by the US Senate would not be required.
The American Family News article may be read HERE.
The US Constitution, Article II, Section 2, states that “[the President of the United States] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur…”.
According to the US Senate’s website, treaties are binding agreements between nations and become part of international law, carrying the force of federal legislation and becomes part of what the US Constitution calls “the supreme Law of the Land.”
The Senate does not ratify treaties. Following consideration by the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Senate either approves or rejects a “resolution of ratification.” If the resolution passes, ratification takes place when the instruments of ratification are formally exchanged between the US and the foreign power(s).
In recent decades, presidents have frequently entered the US into international agreements without the advice and consent of the Senate, referring to these agreements as “executive agreements” and they are not brought before the US Senate for approval – although such executive agreements are still considered binding on the parties under international law.
My brothers and sisters, therein lies the risk and the apparent strategy of the Biden administration. This skirts the constitutionally-driven procedures of “checks and balances” between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of the US federal government.
Considering the global-government approach of the UN and its inability to effectively complete its mission – as evidenced most recently by its continuing appeasement of Hamas-supporting countries, Security Council disfunction, the lack of support for Israel, and the appointing of Iran to chair a recent Human Rights Council meeting (as recently reported by FGGAM HERE), the last thing the US should be doing is ceding our national sovereignty to the WHO!
Ironically, the 11 dissenting nations to the WHO’s “statement of unity” last September were Russia, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, North Korea, Eritrea, Iran, Nicaragua, Syria, Venezuela and Zimbabwe. Think about that!
Some scripture to consider:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge [H]im, and [H]e will make straight your paths.”
1 Corinthians 3:19 (NLT)
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, ‘He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.'”
1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV)
Put On The Whole Armor of God
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
And be sure to remember:
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
