Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
Proverbs 27:1
This has been a hard and sad year. This year has taught me that life is short, tomorrow is not promised us, and to hold close those we love.
God is a good God, He’s been present through all the hurt and pain. He never left us once!
I have no regrets, except that I wish I had spent more time with my family this year.
Our life is temporary. We try not to think about it too much, but nothing lasts in this life.
Many things don’t work out the way that we planned them too.
How can we go on when things get devastating, when we cannot take the pain?
Grief never fully leaves us.
So, there’s only one way around it. That’s Christ!
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
God is near to the brokenhearted. He gets our hard emotions because He created them and experienced them.
When his friend Lazarus died, Jesus wept when he saw Mary weeping.
I believe it’s because her broken heart, broke his. Jesus was about to raise Lazarus, yet before He ever did, He entered their grief.
In fact, scripture says; “Jesus Wept.”
We are not alone in our grief. It may feel like it when we are in the middle of it, it’s very easy to feel alone and abandoned. I know I do.
Sometimes the hurt is so painful, I feel like I can’t breathe.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. –
Isaiah 41:10
“So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
John 16:22
God is our strength. We must focus solely on God, wait on Him and actively seek him.
Just when you think you can’t take one more step or face one more reminder of their absence, God meets you in your grief.
Grief doesn’t have to be the end of the story. By holding us close, God blesses us in the midst of our grief.
Jesus said,
“God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted”
Matthew 5:4
I pray that this next year is blessed for you, and please remember;
Love hard, Forgive often and trust God to lead you.
Get close to God, that’s crucial! We have absolutely no time to waste
Many Blessings,
Connie
