Merry Christmas! We give praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Jesus, for pouring out Your love upon us by entering into this earthly world as a baby boy – fully human, yet fully God – living a sinless life as an example to all, and willingly dying on the cross so that we can have eternal life in the very presence of Almighty God! Glory to God in the highest!
As recorded in Luke 2:1-14, Mary brought forth her firstborn Son, Jesus. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, for there was no room at the inn. An angel of the Lord appeared to nearby shepherds, telling them not to fear and that the angel was bringing “good tidings of great joy” to all people, for a Savior was born that day in the city of David (Bethlehem), who is Christ the Lord! Glory to God in the highest!
Luke 2:1-7 (NKJV)
Christ Born of Mary
“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Luke 2:8-14 (NKJV)
“Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, ‘[d]o not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people [emphasis mine]. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, [a]nd on earth peace, goodwill toward men!’”
Thank you for sharing in the love of Jesus with FGGAM during the 2023 Christmas season.
May God richly bless you, your family and your friends, throughout 2024!
For Day 12, Christmas Day, here is the one and only Bing Crosby singing Joy To The World:
Here are the lyrics:
Joy to the World, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And Heaven and nature sing
And Heaven and nature sing
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing
Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy
No more let sins and sorrows grow
Nor thorns infest the ground
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found
Far as the curse is found
Far as, far as, the curse is found
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders, of His love
God bless you all!
