Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! There is no better time to worship and sing praises to our Savior, Jesus Christ. With all there is to be heartbroken about across the globe, we can take comfort in the incredible peace and love we have in Christ!
The bible tells us how Jesus’ arrival upon this earth was as a little baby, who spent His first few days in the lowly state of a manger – for there was no room at the inn. The bible also tells us that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and that God is love. In fact, if you trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the bible says that you are a child of God!
Luke 2:4-7 (NKJV)
“Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn [emphasis mine].”

The feature for today (Day 6) is the beautiful song Away In A Manager. This arrangement and performance by the Gaither Vocal Band is impeccably done and incredibly moving.
As we reflect on the tragic loss of life in Israel right now, with all the images of mortally injured children (Israeli and Palestinian), it’s almost impossible not to weep. Oh, sin has such horrible consequences. Lord have mercy.
I’m struck by the last line from this song: “Bless all the dear children in Your tender care, and fit us for heaven, to live with You there.” May this be our prayer today, for ALL of God’s children, both young and old. We love You, Lord Jesus! We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
