just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.
–John 13:34-35
From Pastor Begg: “It is a fine line,” but he believes that Christians need to start taking risks to build bridges for the gospel. I AGREE! FGGAM has always been about taking risks for JESUS! The Church in America has gotten to comfortable, to fancy, dancy. The Church is losing its influence for JESUS. So many Americans do not attend Church anymore. I had one lovely lady share with me the other day that the Church she attends has gone from 250 to 50 people over the last few years. I just preached at a Church that is reaching out to many Pastors for help. The Church can seat 300 people, they are down to 17 members.
Here at FGGAM we are a Great Commission ministry, sharing the light of JESUS to one person at a time. Sharon and I minister to all of God’s people! ALL! We attempt to build bridges of love and trust with all. We do not need to accept a lifestyle that is not Biblical, but God has shown me and Sharon to minister to all! How on earth will they ever experience the love of JESUS??? HOW???!! My goodness, we are to reach the lost! So many have left the American Church because they feel condemned by Christians, including folks that have been divorced! My bone to pick with the Church is this: So many Pastors preach to the Choir, the Churches should be filled of people in wheelchairs!!! Do you have people with disabilities in your Church? Do you have people that are homeless in your Church? Or do you just preach to the choir? MY GOODNESS!
I will preach this until the day the Lord calls me home: Carry out The Great Commission. I get asked a lot, “Were is your Church Dewey?” I respond our Church is on wheels, The JESUS car, on foot, on the internet, radio, social media, newspaper.”
Some preachers over the years have gotten all tied up in knots over politics. It has chased many away. I know! I HEAR IT!!! I have my list! Politics is a good way to destroy God’s Church. Politics is the playground of Satan! Look what politics has done to America!!! UGH!
By the way…how many baptisms did your Church oversee in 2023? I know of Churches that did zero! My mentor, long time Pastor Don Kimbro stated years ago that the lack of baptisims would catch up with the Church. It surely has! Don also stated that the Church was not raising up MATURE CHRISTIANS! I AGREE! How many new members has your Church had in the last year? Does your Church have a strong children’s Sunday School?
Churchleaders Reports:
Christian leaders are challenging well-known Scottish pastor Alistair Begg after he shared that he encouraged a grandmother to attend her grandson’s transgender wedding.
Begg’s comments came during a September 2023 interview with Bob Lepine for Begg’s book “The Christian Manifesto.”
In “The Christian Manifesto,” Begg focuses on Jesus’ sermon found in Luke 6. In a promotion for the book, Begg said, “It is a manifesto that is not oriented towards the political arena, but towards the relational and individual one.” More Here
Too many Christians show an unbelieving world just what it wants to see……HATE! Too many so called Christians exhibit that hate on social media!
The share of U.S. adults who say they generally attend religious services once a month or more has dropped slightly, from 33% in 2019 to 30% in 2022.Mar 28, 2023
This is a must read from Pastor Tony Tice: “I have a righteous anger today. This world desperately needs Christ. And, we need to stop being obsessed with building big churches and get committed to making disciples. We need pastors who will be humble servants instead of trying to be the next great church leader.” Message Here
Tim Keller: Virtually everyone agrees something is radically wrong with the church. Inside, there’s more polarization and conflict than ever, leading all sides to agree the church is in deep trouble. Outside, journalists, sociologists, and all other observers bemoan or celebrate the church’s decline numerically, institutionally, and in influence. We must find a new way forward—to spiritual, theological, and institutional renewal—until the Christian church is thriving again, until it’s growing by appealing to and reaching people with truth and serving and changing people with love.
