Israeli Intelligence Report Alleges 10% of Gaza’s UNRWA Workers Have Ties to Terror Groups

The Times of Israel is reporting that a new Israeli intelligence report assesses that about 10% of all  United Nations Relief and Works Agency (“UNRWA”) employees in Gaza (Israel) have ties to terror organizations, including at least 12 employees reportedly involved in the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack against Israel.

According to information reportedly shared by Israeli intelligence officials with the United States and reported by the The Wall Street Journal, of the roughly 12,000 UNRWA employees in Gaza, some 1,200 have ties to either Hamas or the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.  It was also reported that approximately 50% of United Nations employees in Gaza have at least one close relative with ties to the terror groups.

The accusations against the UNRWA are the latest in a long line of Israeli complaints about the United Nations (“UN”), in that it allows anti-Israeli incitement to be taught in its hundreds of schools and that some of its staff collaborate with Hamas. Former President Donald J. Trump suspended funding to the agency in 2018, but President Joe Biden restored funding.

The Times of Israel report may be read HERE.

My brothers and sisters, it should, unfortunately, come as no surprise that a significant portion of UN employees are against the country of Israel and its leadership.

According to Wikipedia, the United Nations Human Rights Council (“UNHRC”) alone has condemned Israel in 43 resolutions since 2013, comprising almost half (45.9%) of all country-specific resolutions passed by the UNHRC.

According to a December 12, 2023 article in The Guardian, the United States looked (and continues to look to this day) isolated on the world stage following an emergency 12/12/2023 vote of the UN General Assembly in which only 10 member nations out of 193 voted against a resolution calling for an immediate (unconditional) humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.  An immediate cease fire would have, essentially, handed a victory to terrorism.

As alleged by Israeli intelligence officials, when roughly one out of every 10 persons employed by the supposedly premier international aid agency for Palestinians affected by the ongoing Israel-Hamas war is affiliated with terror organizations and ideologically against Israel, the recent decision by many member countries, including the United States, to cease funding this operation, at least temporarily, is the bare minimum of reasonableness.  For perspective, the Israeli intelligence calls into question the actual or potential actions of 1,200 persons under the employ of UNRWA.

The United States, under the prior administration, ceased funding for the UNRWA and denied Iran funds due to substantial economic sanctions.  The current administration, as it has done on many different policy-related matters, restored funding to UNRWA and loosed or canceled economic sanctions against Iran.  Iran is an undisputed, worldwide sponsor of terrorism.  The point here is not to push a political agenda, as that is not the mission of FGGAM(!), but rather, to point out that in the United States, as with all free nations, our votes make a HUGE difference.

Let’s pray and stand in agreement that God’s will would be done.  Let’s believe that eyes and ears would be opened to hear the will of God by the prompting of the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and testifies of Jesus.  Let’s pray that godly wisdom prevails, not only in the United States, but in all of the member countries of the UN.  The Jewish people are God’s chosen, and although they are far from perfect (like the rest of us), it is their land that is being attacked and thereby requiring a strong Israeli response to protect its citizens, both Jewish and Palestinian, now and in the future.

The bible reminds us of several truths:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (Amplified Bible)
A Time for Everything
“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—[a] time to be born and a time to die; [a] time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.  A time to kill and a time to heal; [a] time to tear down and a time to build up.  A time to weep and a time to laugh; [a] time to mourn and a time to dance.  A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones; [a] time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.  A time to search and a time to give up as lost; [a] time to keep and a time to throw away.  A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; [a] time to keep silent and a time to speak.  A time to love and a time to hate; [a] time for war and a time for peace [emphasis mine].”

Proverbs 13:20 (NKJV)
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, [b]ut the companion of fools will be destroyed.”

James 1:5 (NKJV)
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Zechariah 2:8-10 (NKJV)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts:  ‘He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.  For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants.  Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion [Jerusalem]!  For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the Lord.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
