Pastor Dewey Moede: When I was growing up in Windom, Minnesota back in the late 50’s and early 60’s we always respected Pastors. Mom and Dad taught us to. They were a shining light to our community. There was not the division in the Church back then like there is now! Our Pastor back home would visit our home from time to time, I call them Check-Ups for JESUS! Do you know of a Pastor that makes home visits? Let me know. Whatever happen to those check-ups?
I love this story of dedication to the Lord and community! In anything we do, we should not make a move or decision unless God says! What do you think God thought when people spent all the money on Super Bowl tickets while people go hungry? Or people buy a 50,000 dollar car or truck? Greed! EGO! Think about it. We live in a godless country.
Are you living out the call of God on your life? Do you even know what it is? By the way, one of the main keys for me on the ministry of Pastor Hill, is all the baptisims he has officiated! How many baptisims has your Church oversaw in the last 5 years? 10 years? My Dear Brother Pastor Don Kimbro, who just went home to Jesus, told me years ago the lack of baptisims and growing up mature Christians would catch up with the Church! It surely has! What ever happened to carrying out The Great Commission? My goodness! It is a COMMAND FROM JESUS!

RAMSEY, Ill. (BP) – It’s not unusual to find pastors who have stayed in their churches for 15, maybe 20 years. And some longer than that, like maybe 25. But few have stayed 60 years.
Edmund Hill, age 88, has been the pastor of Bayle City Baptist Church since 1963, more than 60 years. He was recognized at the annual meeting of the Illinois Baptist State Association last fall.
IBSA Executive Director Nate Adams asked the crowd if they could remember a few things that were around in 1963. He said the computer mouse had not yet been invented. Instant coffee was brought on the market about that time. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated that year. And the population of the world has almost doubled since then. All that time, Edmund Hill has been serving Bayle City.
Hill said he was attending church with his parents as a 28-year-old when an older pastor stopped by his home church in Ramsey. He asked Hill if he would be interested in preaching at the Bayle City church. Hill agreed.
“I thought I might be there a few months,” he said. But 60 years later, he’s still serving there, and his congregation loves him. He’s baptized generations of people – sometimes three generations in one family. More Here
Got Questions states: God is far more involved with His universe than some would like to think. Isaiah 46:9–11 is the cornerstone passage that removes all doubt about God’s sovereignty. Even though He has given humankind the freedom to make choices, His choices have already been made (Exodus 33:19; Romans 9:10–18). “God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29). More Here
